October 18, 2019

Paul Pogba and David De Gea will miss a massive showdown between Manchester United and Liverpool on Sunday in Liverpool.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was excluded from the conflict with Liverpool leaders in Sunday’s Premier League, while goalkeeper David De Gea faced a scan.

Pogba has been fighting the ankle problem, and Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed that the 26-year-old has suffered setbacks in his recovery.

Solskjaer told Sky Sports: “Paul was injured. He came back. He worked very hard. He came back and played a few games, perhaps through a painful obstacle.

“He had a scan after the Arsenal game and maybe he had to rest on the boots for a few weeks, so I hope he won’t be too long, but he won’t participate in this game, no.”

Degea was forced to participate in Spain’s 2020 European Cup qualifier against Sweden on Tuesday night. Solskja admitted that he is also likely to miss the Liverpool confrontation at Old Trafford.

“David needs to scan,” added Solskjaer. “I think he will go out. Anyway, it looks like it last night, so that’s just one of them.

Solskjaer really wants to return people like Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka because they are Strive for a return after the injury.

“I can’t tell you that 100% (who) will suit, because something can happen.

“But I hope Aaron and Anthony will finish training this week and have a choice. If it’s a half game or 30 minutes, I don’t know, but let’s take a look at their position.”
